Air Conditioner Not Performing Well? Invest in a Electrostatic Washable AC Filter

Many areas of the country have had a taste of warm weather, and for most it was an opportunity to turn on the air conditioner and see how it’s working. If, after running it awhile, you realized it wasn’t performing as well as it had been in the past, it may be time to evaluate your ac filter.

All air conditioners have a filter. Some of them are disposable filters that you need to replace, and in the hot, humid, summer months, you should do it often. Others have a filter that can be cleaned, but not all filters are created equal. Even the reusable filters that come standard in air conditioning systems have a finite lifespan, as they start to become harder to clean, or eventually fall apart.

Our electrostatic filters come with a lifetime warranty, so you can rest assured this will be the last time you buy a filter for your AC. They are strong enough to being cleaned on a regular basis for the life of your unit. They also trap dust and allergens, so in addition to saving money, you will be investing in the health and well-being of your family.

If you’ve recently noticed a decline in the performance of your air conditioner, filters are the first thing to check. Our high-performing filters will pay for themselves in about a year when compared to disposable filters, and we can make them any size you need. Once you get a new filter, your air conditioner will be able to run more efficiently and effectively, saving you money and increasing your comfort level.

How is an Electrostatic Filter Different From a Traditional AC Filter?

If you have a central heat and air unit then you probably already know how important it is to have a clean air filter. While you may have heard of an electrostatic filter you may be wondering how it is different from a traditional AC filter.

What an electrostatic air filter does is charge polypropylene media as air passes over it    This attracts dust to the air filter instead of the air and surfaces in your home.

The cheaper filters may screen out the debris that can damage your air conditioning system but they won’t attract the main components that can cause allergies like pet dander, cigarette smoke, mold spores and pollen like an electrostatic filter.

The middle type of filter is the pleated one. These will last longer than the cheaper woven fiberglass filter, but again they do not filter out as much as an electrostatic filter and have to be changed out just like the cheap filters, although not as often.

With an electrostatic filter, you get a permanent solution that takes care of contaminants by attracting and filtering. This dual combination solution ensures that dust is filtered and that means you have a safer and healthier environment. Since they are permanent you clean them by vacuuming or washing them with a water hose; it’s that simple.

If you want to learn more about a permanent electrostatic filter and how it can help your family or want to place an order simply contact us and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Furnace Filter Replacement: Out With The Old, In With The New

As summer starts to change into fall, home and business owners start to think about firing up the furnace for the first time this season — and with the inevitable dust, mold, pollen and particulate build-up from the system sitting idle all summer – a furnace filter replacement is certainly on the must-do list.

But what if you didn’t have to get a new filter every few weeks this winter? What if you didn’t have to make extra trips to the hardware or big-box store for more filters? What if you could remove more allergens, more indoor air pollution, more of the bothersome bits that make forced-air systems problematic — and do it with less effort, less cost, and wind up putting less junk in the landfills? Seem like a good idea?

Electrostatic furnace filters are a one-time purchase that last and last; instead of replacing disposable filters, a quick rinse and a reusable electrostatic filter is as good as new — paying for itself in less than a year, and doing a far better job at cleaning the air than its disposable cousin.

Since it’s easy to keep clean, having an electrostatic filter in your furnace means the system is operating more efficiently, saving energy when heating (or cooling) your home or business — and saving money in the process. A clogged disposable filter left unchanged for even a day or two can result in the furnace working harder to move air around, resulting in a higher gas and electric bill to warm the same space. What’s more, a heating and cooling system that works harder wears out sooner — keeping your filter clean can help your furnace last longer, too.

When you’re ready to stop messing around with disposable filters, contact us and get ready to enjoy the benefits of electrostatic filters today.

I Say Furnace Filter, You Say Air Filter

Image

You say tomato, I say tomahtoh. I say furnace filter and you say air filter.  Is there a difference between a “furnace” filter, an “air” filter and an “AC” filter?  No…they all refer to the same product.  They are called different things in different parts of the country.  A “furnace” filter will work in an A/C system and vice versa.  These filters are designed for central air systems and will work with heat or A/C, in summer and in winter.

Now that we got that cleared up, why do we generally do research on these filters?  Beacuse we want less dust, pollen, and mold in our air. And usually we want to save time and money when we have to replace them. Air conditioning and purifying units come with filters but rarely are they reusable. Instead there comes that time of year that greets us with heat, dust, and high pollen counts– when we realize that the filter needs replacing. Unfortunately, that realization doesn’t always accomodate our schedules.

Enter the electrostatic furnace filters, ready to trap allergens and dust in your home’s indoor air. And ready to be reused. Needing only a hose-off once every one to two months, reusable filters pay for themselves in about a year, and they provide ten times better filtration than disposable filters.

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology reports that 50% of homes had at least six allergens present. Only one of those six, pollen, is an allergen that fluctuates with the season. Other allergens ike mold, dust mites, and dander pollute indoor air year round. Household cleaners, paints, and office equpiment can likewise release particles the EPA characterizes as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). VOCs are 2-5 times higher inside homes than outside, regardless of an urban or rural setting.

We spend a lot of time indoors. In our homes, in coffee shops, in offices. We can’t always control the purifying methods in other spaces, but choosing efficient and environmental furnace filters helps us control pollution where we can.
